Circles and Squares
On the hunt for photos that speak to me in some of the city’s circles and squares. I began in Times Square, then headed over to Bryant Park, and then to Columbus Circle.
Times Square
A skateboarder walks through Times Square.
A cyclist rides down 43rd Street in Times Square.
A woman seems unfazed by the bustle of Times Square and appears to be in a meditative stare.
The old Paramount Theater in Times Square. Opened in 1926, it was the premiere theater for Paramount's pictures until it closed in 1964.
Bryant Park
The top of the American Radiator Building near Bryant Park.
A group of musicians and actors were staging a show in Bryant Park.
A reflected Empire State Building beside the American Radiator Building's reflection.
Sixth Avenue in midtown is a series of boring boxes. Here is a case where the product is far greater than the sum of its parts. In other words, I dig the canyon, but each building on its own is forgettable.
People eating at an outdoor bar in Bryant Park.
Columbus Circle
An intense pose for a photo at Columbus Circle.
A woman stretches her back on the wide bench at Columbus Circle as her kids are off playing.
Sharing a snack in Columbus Circle.
The curved facade of the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle.
