Grand Central Terminal

I needed to take some shots in Grand Central for an upcoming book I was editing. So, I made a date out of it. I had some seafood and a beer at the Oyster Bar, and was able to sneak my mini tripod into the main concourse to capture the people on the ground and the stars on the ceiling.

The Oyster Bar

The Oyster Bar has been operating here continuously since the terminal opened in 1913. It’s a bit pricey, but the food is generally good. And, the space is uniquely New York.

Façade

The front façade of the building faces 42nd Street, and is capped with a statue of Mercury. I’ve taken photos out here several times, but I liked the motion of the traffic in these, and I was able to get a good spot with my tripod.

And, for a bonus, one of the passageways for a ramp that connects levels, lit by the decorative chandeliers that are a signature of the terminal.
