Tribute in Light Night

More than any other memorial, I think the Tribute in Light is the most profound and accessible. It is visible by the many millions who grew up with those towers, as I did, and is most reminiscent of their form and scale. I hope they continue this tradition for a long time.

Photographers Crowd at the Sticks

It’s not easy being a photographer in New York City, even for a hobbyist like me. The sticks are the rotting pier supports that offer a great foreground subject when taking the Lower Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn Bridge Park. They are normally a little busy, but on 9/11, it’s absolutely mobbed.

The Sticks

I like the sticks as abstract subjects, with the reflected light from Manhattan. One of these is red, the other more blue because an illuminated pier across the river changes colors.
