Miami Beach
Oceanside
First, some daytime photos of the ocean. I enjoy going out with my camera at night, mostly, but I liked these shots. The one from the hotel hallway is reminiscent of a color blocking pattern, and the contrast of color does something for me.
Ocean Drive
A few shots from Ocean Drive. I decided to step back from the chaos there and take some photos from the grass that separates the beach from the street.
Most of these night shots are HDR images. Some only have a couple images, some have 5–10 images added together to even out the lighting.
Lincoln Road
Lincoln Road is a converted pedestrian zone and is lined with stores and activities. It’s nicely landscaped and has some architectural gems, like the Colony Theater.
Odd Garage
There’s a parking garage near the end of the road, and its asymmetry intrigued me. Not a simple box of floors, each floor seems to be at a different height and juts out in different ways, and the lighting only enhances its appeal.
I found it a bit challenging to photograph though. Hard to get a satisfying angle on it, for one, and to show the quirkiness of it. In the color photo, I decided to turn it on its head, and I like the result which, to be honest, is hard to discern whether it’s upside down or right side up.
Sunset & Moonrise
Black Skyscraper
Finally, I liked this black office building and thought, with the blackness of the night, might make an interesting shot. Not sure if it does, but I suppose I like it enough to include here.
