Central Park

Another jaunt in the park on a winter evening. This has not been the coldest winter, but The Lake was mostly frozen over.

Armed only with my 35 mm, ƒ/1.8 lens, I needed to improvise at times with composition.

First up, the view of the skyline over the lake, with a couple of ducks.

Skyline over the Lake

The ever-changing skyline from Bank Rock Bridge in Central Park, with the icy Lake refoecting the lights.

The reflections on the ice were so bright and colorful tonight. These supertall buildings forced me to do a panorama of two photos owing to only having my 35 mm lens.

These tree roots were fairly dark when I took this 8-second exposure. I also chose B&W to accentuate the texture of the bark and the ground.

Sometimes you take a shot and are completely surprised by what the camera produces—this was such a shot. I don’t know where the camera picked up the pinkish hues, but there they are.
