Camping and Comet
Our annual camping trip coincided with one of the brightest comets to visit in many decades. Comet NEOWISE was easily visible with the naked eye the week we were in the Adirondacks, and even the tail was visible in the sky. I’ve seen comets, but none as bright as this one. This will likely be the best comet I see in my lifetime.

Getting a photo of this comet proved to be rather tricky. Soon after becoming visible at dusk, it set behind the trees pictured.

A timelapse of Comet NEOWISE at Lewey Lake. The double tail is visible in this exposure. This will probably be the greatest comet I will see in my life.
We went out on a short pier into the lake to squeeze an extra minute or two of visibility. But, the floating dock wasn’t entirely stable, so we got a lot of blurry photos. These two were my best.
