Central Park’s Fall Glow
Finally took the SLR out! It’s been a long time, but I finally feel inspired to be out in the city with my camera. I don’t know what drives this inspiration, or lack of, but I’m happy it’s back.
Remains of the Day
Some photos of the fall colors at the end of the day, as the sun is heading down. The peak colors feel a little late this year, but I’m always happy to be in the park this time of year.
These came out a little soft, but I like them. I was rushed trying to get the shot before they walked out of frame.
Descend into Night
The “blue hour” is my favoite time to shoot. I love squeezing the last bits of light out of the sky. And, with the color contrast happening yoday, it’s even more satisfying.
The ice rink is an HDR composed of five shots, allowing me to see the sky and buildings alongside the saturated, white rink and its lights.
These two are also HDRs, giving me a huge contrast between light and shadow. I really love the last shot overlooking the lake, but wish the foreground sticks on the right were not there. I didn’t have the heart to rip them out, and they would not be pushed aside.
