Albany Rural Cemetery

Many of the Beatties are in the Albany Rural Cemetery. I’m sure there are more family members here, particularly some of the Killoughs, but that will be for another visit. People buried here lived between 1837 and 2004.

The two Beattie sons, Guy and William, were born to James Beattie and Elizabeth Dudgeon (my great-great grandparents). Guy and William married sisters from the Killough family. William married Sarah Killough and they had at least four children. Two of their kids, Mary and Henry, are buried here.

Guy Beattie married Mary Ann Killough (my great grandparents). Six of their children are buried here: Mary, who died as an infant, Edward, who died at 2, Kathryn Beattie Atkins and her son Donald Atkins, Mary Beattie Harrison and her son William Harrison, Jr., William H. Beattie and his wife Jane, and Elizabeth (Biddy) Beattie Eastman and her husband Clayton Eastman.
